The Royal Crescent, Bath

I have been working in Bath for 3 and a half years and I lived in Bath for a year and yet I think I had only been to the Royal Crescent and The Circus once or twice!

This is completely ridiculous as it’s only about 20 minutes walk from my office and so easily walkable in my lunch break. So last week I decided to go up there with my Olympus Pen E-PL7 and take some snapshots of this beautiful area in Bath.

The curve of the buildings along with the colour of Bath stone is so satisfying somehow, especially to take photos of. On the way to the Crescent I walked through The Circus where the buildings are on even more of a curve and the pavements have a wonderful purplish/grey hue to them like a patchwork blanket.

I think I’m also becoming obsessed with cute doors. I know there’s a bit of a craze for this on Instagram atm (just search the hashtag #ihavethisthingwithdoors and you’ll see what I mean! ) and I can totally see why. I love beautifully painted and displayed doors!

Once I got up to the Royal Crescent I was reminded how pretty it is up there. It’s great as well because it’s on a hill above Victoria Park so there are some great views from the top of the Crescent too. Definitely worth a visit if you ever come to Bath! 🙂
